Exhibition at Govanhill Baths

I will have work included in the art exhibition at Govanhill Baths in Glasgow for Doors Open Day. The Govanhill Baths Art & Regeneration Team invited artists to propose work that responded to the building or the idea of swimming and public baths. The exhibition will be open on Doors Open Day weekend, 19th-20th September, 2009.

Images of my proposal

Govanhill Baths are a complex of three swimming pools, hot baths and a steamie, opened in 1917. They were closed by Glasgow City Council in 2001. The Govanhill Baths Trust was formed to build on the strong local opposition to the closure and re-open the Baths as a local community facility.
